A First Look At The 2024 Ford Mustang
Unbridled Power In The 2024 Mustang
When the 2024 Ford Mustang arrives on dealership lots, the iconic pony car will be one of the last performance cars available with an internal combustion engine. Many competitors are removing their sports cars from their lineups in favor of electric vehicles. To further distinguish itself from the remaining competition, the 2024 Ford Mustang specs are going off the charts with more horsepower, torque, and performance features.
You can learn more about the 2023 and 2024 Mustang at Spitzer Ford DuBois near Sandy, PA, where our knowledgeable team can help you order the one that meets your need for speed.
The Dark Horse Of The Family
Ford will continue to offer the Mustang with a base 2.3-liter EcoBoost, but with more horsepower – 315 to be exact. The turbocharged engine will also deliver 350 lb-ft of torque for quick takeoff from stoplights.
The most exciting 2024 Ford Mustang horsepower will come from the Dark Horse performance model. With the optional 5.0-liter Coyote engine with dual throttle body, this angry pony will achieve 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque thanks to a unique crankshaft and forged piston connecting rods. Drivers who choose the 5.0-liter V8 GT model will get a six-speed manual transmission with 486 horses and 418 lb-ft of torque, and a 10-speed automatic transmission will be available.
Engage The Drift Brake
Ford will offer a Performance package for the 2024 Mustang, and the defining feature is the Electronic Drift Brake or EDB. This little hand brake might look like a typical parking brake, but it’s anything but. With help from professional drifter, Vaughn Gittin Jr., the EDB bounces back to position after engagement and engages only while in the appropriately named drive mode called Drift.
Performance-Ready Styling
The 2024 Ford Mustang interior features performance-ready styling. Ford gave the ‘24 Mustang a makeover with a flat-bottom steering wheel and cockpit styling that makes Top Gun envious. The new digital instrument cluster measures 12.4 inches, while the Sync 4 infotainment screen measures 13.2 inches.
On the outside, there is no doubt that the vehicle is a Mustang. It features a more aggressive grille with larger vents to improve airflow to the naturally-aspirated V8. It also has athletic hood vents and a front splitter. Ford will offer the 2024 Mustang in a new Bronze Package with Sinister Bronze alloy wheels and new bronze badging.
Even the headlights received a redesign in the new Mustang. In its seventh generation, the pony car features tri-bar, LED headlights that remind drivers of the tri-bar tail lights that illuminate individually when the turn signals are activated. Ford added new accents to make the ‘Stang look more aggressively wide.
